A Nickel Iron battery’s electrical capacity will deteriorate approximately 1% per year under normal use. This is due to a carbonate buildup in the electrolyte. Due to this degradation, it is recommended to replace the battery’s electrolyte every 10 years +/- to recover this capacity loss.
The Iron Edison Electrolyte Replacement Kit provides you with the needed chemicals in powder form to mix up to 90 liters of electrolyte. Reference the chart to the right to determine how many Electrolyte Replacement Kits your battery bank will need.
Replacing your battery’s electrolyte will require a large quantity of distilled water. Iron Edison’s HydroPure Deionizer System may save you time and money by allowing you to filter your own water.
** This Electrolyte Replacement Kit is ONLY for Iron Edison Industrial Series Nickel Iron Batteries. It should NOT be used with ANY other battery! **
